The rapid development of the Chinese digital economy is also reflected in the area of digital copyrights. In 2018, this hitherto rather exotic market reached a volume of 742.3 billion yuan, an increase of 16.6% over the previous year. This extraordinary increase is not only due to the constant innovations within the digital industries, but also to the growing awareness of copyright among consumers.
In China, not only has the population become widely aware of digital business models, but the willingness to pay copyright fees has also increased. This development will continue. Chinese providers of digital products and services are currently improving the quality of their creations, improving their layouts for foreign markets and using innovative technologies.
In 2019, the aim will be to further strengthen digital copyright in China by establishing copyright protection systems. We assume that copyrights will develop into a mega-market in the Chinese digital economy.
